Throughout our LEAP programmes we introduce various happiness rituals for you to incorporate into your daily life, for a happier, more positive you.

Below, we’ve outlined a Happiness Ritual that we think you’ll like, it’s called ‘Cultivating Optimism’.

Cultivating Optimism

Look on the bright side, find the silver lining, put a positive spin on things, see the glass half full..

Optimism is not just about thoughts like “I will get there”, it’s also about how it will be accomplished.

Optimism comes in all sizes..

small (I’ll make it through the day)

Mid sized (I’ll get that new job)

Big (I will make my life the best it can be!)
However, keeping yourself in a positive state of mind can be difficult when you’re having one of those days.

Here are a few ideas for you to practice optimism..

1. Write a letter to yourself from the future from a positive point of view. What GREAT things have happened? Write about where you are, what you’ve been doing and the best outcomes you can imagine for yourself and your life.

2. Address barrier thoughts – reinterpret them by asking: “what else could this mean?”

3. Use your best self exercise – Think about times in your life when you’re at your best. Where are you? What are you doing? Who are you with?

How do you like to practice optimism?
